Book review services are available for the right price. But to be perfectly honest, just like editing, reviewing is very expensive. Just like editing, this is partly because of the immense skill and knowledge of the craft of writing that is required as well as because it is time consuming. Try to give away your book free for exchange for an honest review. I only do professional reviews. That is I read the whole book I am reviewing taking notes. Then I do a full critical review. This means if every self-publisher asked for a review, 95% will be highly critical and advise reader’s not to waste their time. because that is the truth. So I would expect only successful writer’s to request a review. When it comes to reviews, I’d say for 95% of writers, save your money and don’t ask for a critical review.
